Too Cool For School
I’m learning that when your kids start doing something that is TOTALLY dorky, it is sometimes best to just sit back and let it be. Sometimes, I wonder if maybe something completely uncool has come back in style. And others, I know it is a horrible fashion faux pas and, yet, I feel the need to go with it.
Recently, when Miller’s hair was getting super longer, he would brush it forward and even slick it down on his forehead with water. He looked like Lloyd Christmas’ Asian son (you know, Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber). I BEGGED him not to do it. I tried to spike it and mousse it. And then we would just argue. Finally, I paid him $10 just to let me buzz it.
Then today, Miller & Dre sat with Callie for 360. Miller got up to go use the bathroom. I am not kidding you when I tell you that he had on one black wool glove and his polo shirt was buttoned all the way up, collar flipped up! I cried I was laughing so hard!!!
I didn’t say anything to him though. I let him wear it…out to the car, to the restaurant and even when we got home. I didn’t even tell him he looked like a complete dork! He was bragging that the wool glove doubled as a pocket! I can’t wait to show him this blog in 10 years! I just can’t wait!!
