ButterFLY

Almost eleven weeks ago, I started on a journey. I was very excited, slightly nervous, super ready. I began my first ever elective, “curriculum” Bible study.

It is called “A Woman’s Heart: God’s Dwelling Place” by Beth Moore. And it required about 45 minutes of personal study five days a week. A group of about 20 women met for two hours every Tuesday night to review our homework and watch the weekly lecture video.

Simply put, this changed my life. I am not who I was ten weeks ago. I have fallen into a new depth of love for the Trinity and every moment of my life is different. I almost feel like I had on blinders…or like I was only using one leg, to discover I had two.

When we travel, I typically read a book out loud to Patrick. Our last few trips, we’ve been reading through Francis Chan’s “Forgotten God.” In it, Chan talks about how caterpillars must experience some weird confusion & great awe as they wake up one day to find themselves now a butterfly. And he remarks on how crazy it must be for them to go from crawling to flying. I completely get that analogy…because, at the interesting age of 33, God is teaching me to FLY!!!!
